Raid Battles are short and special events that take place in Pokemon Go Gyms. Raid Battle is a cooperative gameplay experience that encourages trainers to work together with other trainers to defeat very powerful Pokemon, also known as Raid Bosses. It will be effective to win the Gym match by joining 7 other trainers so they can knock out the Raid Boss quite easily.
There are several conditions for running a Raid Boss match that can be known as follows in Pokemon GO game online:
- Raid Battles only occur in Pokemon Gyms with approximate times from 05:00 to 19:45 local time. The fight time provided only lasts 45 minutes, the time and duration of which can be changed during certain events.
- A raid pass is required to enter a Raid Battle and is only used when a raid is initiated.
- There are up to 20 trainers who can participate in a raid party.
- After entering the battle arena, the trainers must defeat the attacking Boss within the set time limit. If the mass runs out of time and has not succeeded in paralyzing the Boss, the trainer will fail and must try the raid again.
- After successfully defeating the Raid Boss, each trainer is given a number of Premier Balls based on several metrics and then given the opportunity to catch Pokemon using only those balls and whatever Berries the trainer has to conquer Pokemon more easily.
Several Raid Battles in the Pokemon GO Game
Mega Raid Battles
Mega Raid Battle is a special type of battle that allows trainers to battle against Mega Evolved Pokemon to collect large amounts of Mega Energy for those Pokemon. In this fight it will be against a powerful Raid Boss, usually rated as a level 4 raid Boss. The Mega Energy gained is based on how quickly the attack is completed. In the case of Legendary Pokemon in Mega Raid, they are designated as tier 6. Therefore, the battle will be better if done in groups with a larger number of trainers. Successfully defeating Mega Pokemon, the Pokemon will return to its normal form and can then be caught in a bonus challenge with the possibility of being obtained as a Shiny Pokemon.
Prima Raid Battles
Prima Raid Battles are a special type of Raid that allow Trainers to battle against Pokémon in Primal Reversion to collect large amounts of Primal Energy for those Pokémon. Like Mega Raid Battle, this Raid has a powerful Raid Boss, and the amount of Primal Energy gained is based on how quickly the raid is completed. Likewise, once defeated, a Primal Pokemon will return to its normal form and can be caught during a Bonus Challenge.
Shadow Raid Battles
Shadow Raid Battles are a special type of Raid that features Shadow Pokemon as Raid Bosses. Unlike other special Attack types, Shadow Attacks are modifiers of standard Tier 1, Tier 3, and Tier 5 Attacks. Remote Raid Pass cannot be used to join Shadow Raids. Once the Shadow Raid Boss loses about 1/3 of its HP, it will enter an “enraged” state. This causes the Shadow Raid Boss to gain approximately an 81% increase in its Attack stat, a 200% increase in its Defense stat, and slowly regenerate HP over time. This state lasts until the Shadow Raid Boss’s HP reaches around 15%, at which point it will become “subdued”, removing its buff. Tier 1 Shadow Attack Bosses are not infuriating.
Elite Raid Battles
Elite Raid Battles spawn from special Raid Eggs that take 24 hours to hatch. After the Raid Egg hatches, the Raid Boss will appear for 30 minutes. Elite Assault Bosses can only be fought head-on; Remote Raid Pass cannot be used to join Elite Raids.
EX Raid Battles
There are also special Raids called EX Raid Battles which are invite only Raids. Coaches will receive notifications with time, date and location; along with an EX Raid Pass to enter the Raid.
